Minecraft is the game that’s taken the world by storm in recent years, attracting millions of players around the world. With the imaginations of so many players at work, the game has seen countless mods on PC letting you alter your game in new ways. Of course, if you aren’t playing on PC you might be wondering just how you can get your hands on mods for other versions, like the Xbox One.

How to Get Mods on Minecraft Xbox One

At the time of writing, it’s still not possible to get mods on Minecraft Xbox One. Despite there having been numerous methods in the past, using applications such as MC Addons to import mods downloaded via an internet browser on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, these have all been shut down after short periods of time, or removed by Microsoft themselves.

This means that, your only option to mod Minecraft Xbox One is to purchase add-ons from the Minecraft Marketplace. We’ve outlined this process below.

Minecraft Marketplace Add-Ons

Add-ons are paid additions to the console version of the game and can be found by launching Minecraft and then selecting the Marketplace option on the menu.

From here, you can browse various different categories to narrow down the type of mod you’re looking for. Keep in mind that some mods do require you to purchase Minecraft Coins. The amount of coins needed to purchase will vary depending on the add-on you’re looking to buy.

Once you’ve found an add-on you want to purchase, click on its price and confirm the purchase.

You can now go to ‘Create New’ and then ‘Create New World.’ Now select, Resource Packs, and you should see all of your purchased add-ons here, ready for you to enable.
